This project was created using Adobe Illustrator. It was one of the first larger projects I created in Illustrator and really made me fall in love with the program. It was fun to create all the different baking items and see them all come to life as an instruction manual. It represents my design style and creativity.
The Design Process
The goal of this project is to create a brochure on how to create a birthday cake for your dog. The brochure will help pet parents follow simple instructions to create a cake that is safe for dogs to eat as well as tastes delicious. The audience is men and women in their mid to late 20s to early 30s who are dog owners who view their dogs as their children/family.
Mood Board and Inspiration - I wanted the brochure to have a fun and whimsical feel to it. I wanted it to feel like happiness and magic all wrapped into one. I picked colors that were fun, but muted as well as some whimsical fonts.
Sketches - As I was working through the process, I sketched out the general layout for the brochure.
The Final Project
Final Project - The final brochure is full of color and whimsical designs. It helps to achieve the goal by illustrating the process of creating a dog birthday cake.
